Born in !950's New York, Barbara was an extremely creative young artist, often using the walls of the family home as her canvas. But, as she grew into young adulthood, life took her away from art and into other directions academically, professionally and geographically.

Many years later, Barbara picked up her pencils again to make a memorial picture for a friend grieving the tragic loss of her dog. Thus began a side career of commissioned realistic graphite drawings of family pets. Today, Barbara's work graces many homes across the country.

Ten years went by and she knew the time had come to combine her extensive life experience with her artistic skills and jump into the exciting world of color with all its diverse mediums and styles. So, encouraged by a Degas' quote,

"It isn't until the painter has no idea what he's doing that he makes good paintings.

Barbara, now free from the pressure of always making a masterpiece, enthusiastically jumped into this new world of artistic potential with joyful abandon.
